Well the author really doesn't know what he's talking about. The Usenet
"that had one place to go, that everybody knew about, but nobody owned" he
says is dead is actually alive and kicking. I agree jihad against binaries
is problematic, especially since it hit the orchid community very hard. We
no longer post to alt.binaries.pictures.orchids - not quite the sexual
organs Andrew Cuomo worried about us looking at, but nevertheless traffic at
that site has stopped. We're working our ways around that. Comcast is
rumored to be dropping binaries very soon, so soon we'll just post pictures
at Flickr and link ot them at rec.gardens.orchids. No big deal. So if we
are thinking of ways to still do what we want, so are the pornographers.
