Same in Canada.--Come down to Oz to live. Gambling winnings are tax free down here,
unless you are a professional gambler.
As I understand it, there is no part of Canada where it does not
SNOW in the winter.
That's what gives us the glory of four different seasons (plus a lot of
bad boring jokes about how we really have only two, defined by road
construction/snow/rain etc.)

Memories.
Time: 9 PM on the 4th of July, in the year of the 100th
Anniversary Celebration of the Statue of Liberty. I guess
it was 1986, but my memory is unclear on that point.
Place: Topsail Beach, Topsail, Newfoundland.
We put on sweaters and went down to the beach from the house
to start a bonfire. It was too cold. Back to the house, to
put on windbreakers over the sweaters. Still too cold.
Back to the house to put on winter parkas, with the hoods
up, over the windbreakers over the sweaters. Ah, just
right. Then we made the bonfire. I have pictures to prove
it!
Sort of the converse of the picture I had my father take, long
long ago, of me sunbathing in the back yard on Christmas Day.
(place, Newport Beach CA, year, 1955.)
