Our university has a mailing fee if you don't attend graduation or pick
up your diploma.

Unfortunately, the high school thinks attending is a privilege and that
everyone wants to. So they are threatening the kids that if they are late
for rehearsal they won't get to participate. They still get their
diplomas, though.
