I'm totally with you on the down comforter. I have a fairly lightweight one
which is just perfect. For other seasons I have a cotton blanket and a
mattelasse coverlet. Some combination of the above works well. If it's not
60 or below, I like to have the air stirring, so I have a window fan. Since
the temperature generally goes down to decent levels here at night, that
generally is enough. If the air is moving, I can deal with more heat. The
thing that kills me is the warm room with still air. I'm thinking that I
ought to get a ceiling fan for the bedroom, since our ceilings are very
high, and my window fan is on its last legs.

The climates that most people seem to like are insufferable to me, unless I
can crank up the AC. I am NOT one of those people who says they hate AC--I
love it! Although I don't have it, except in the chocolate room. There have
been summer nights when I slept on the floor in there...
