Of the three, SVU is the most gripping from week to week. The original
fell into a very predictable formula early on but it was a damned good
formula. Jerry Orbach's departure from the show really hurt it, IMHO. His
portrayal of the worldweary and wisecracking Lenny Briscoe made the show
extremely watchable. A series of disposable DAs and ADAs didn't help
either.
I got hooked on C.I. because of Vincent D'Onofrio and his disturbed,
Holmes-like Det. Goran. The show became a pleasure to watch just to see
his act. Once Mr. Big came in, I lost interest.
Two more things:
1) Bring back the worldweariness to L&O - how about Morgan Freeman to fill
those shoes? He was great in "7even".
2) What is it with lips on the L&O shows? Kathryn Erbe has none and Diane
Neal has way too much.
