If one is going to read what Mr. Miniter has to say about Shamir, then

On Holocaust Denial

The "revisionists" risked their lives and fortunes trying to undermine
what they call "the Myth of the Holocaust." One can understand their
interest. Nowadays, one may openly doubt the Immaculate Conception or
(maybe) challenge the founding myths of Israel. Yet the cult of the
Holocaust retains a unique, court-enforced prohibition against any
investigation that might cast a doubt on its sacred dogma.

It is of some interest to me that Mr. Miniter approaches this whole
subject with such vitriolic denunciations of anyone who has anything
to say about the culpability of certain segments of so-called Jewry.
It is fair to say that every social grouping has certain factions that
are less than commendable in their extremist activism. But there are
those groups which will not tolerate any indictment of the behavior of
their extremist factions by those outside their group. I, as a
Christian, openly denounce the manners and beliefs of some who call
themselves Christians. In doing so, I am following the example of
Paul and the other apostles of Jesus Christ. Moreover, Jesus himself,
openly denounced the hypocrisy of Jewish leaders of his time on earth
(Matthew 23). But I wonder at Mr. Miniter's hostile and offensive
manner when confronted with the issue of certain blameworthy
(so-called) Jews. He is quick to cast aspersions upon others based
upon uncertain accusations, but he would utterly condemn others (me)
if he can by any means imply that I am doing the same (true or not).
(And I will not cease to proclaim that my beliefs are not
antisemitic.) But, what is behind Mr. Miniter's apparent Judeophilia?
