Re: Just finished, now reading, next up

Just finished "Impulse" by Frederick Ramsay. Thanks to the Rammer who
mentioned him. A couple of 60-something amateurs work at solving an old
mystery at a military school. It was enjoyable, though at my age, (only
slightly younger than the protagonists), I did bristle a few times at some
of the thoughts about attitudes toward the elderly that were expressed in
the book. Those attitudes are probably out there, but so far I haven't
noticed them.

Currently reading Minette Walter's new one, "Devil's Feather". I'm only on
page thirty-three, so can't really figure out where this is going. It feels
different from her other books and I can't figure out why. Has anyone read
it?

On CD I'm listening to Fannie Flagg's "A Redbird Christmas". A man in poor
health transplants himself from Chicago to a small town in Alabama for the
winter. It's a nice warm, friendly story with entertaining characers. And
as a plus, it's read by the author.
