Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK which has body parts preserved.
i know there's a couple of museums etc. but i want to find out if there
are any pickled fingers; severed hands; preserved eyeballs etc... kept
on display anywhere. i am sure i have heard of a man's head kept in a
pub somewhere?
Would really appreciate any help on this.
Wow! - It's good to have a hobby I guess.
Can't help you I'm afraid but I did read of a woman in England who had
her husband's ashes put into an hour glass which she kept on her
mantel. She said it was the hardest he'd ever worked.
Here in Toronto we have The Ontario Science Centre which has a cadaver
section - Genuine frozen dead bodies - Anyone can will their bodies to
the center and be on permanent display.
Author Richard Matheson was said to have had the heart of a small boy.
He said he kept it in a jar on his desk.
While it's not the UK, Philadelphia has the Mutter Museum which has a huge
collection of medical oddities including some non viable conjoined twins and
a whole corpse consisting of adipocere or grave wax. There is also a whole
wall of skulls mainly taken from executed criminals in the 19th century.
Well worth a try it you get to Phillie. Take care
