One would think that the author of approximately 10% of all the books
sold in the UK would have the clout to retain *some* artistic control
over the finished product.
I haven't seen the production, (nor read the book - yet) so I can't
comment on that, but if you're "big" enough, I would think that you
wouldn't need to sell all rights to your work. It's only a contract.
Yea, yea, and I know, no-one would buy it if there were strings
attached, but somehow, in Rankin's case, he could negotiate the point.
