I've done a search and have not found this issue referenced
previously. For use as the NFL official's mic, we have a need to feed
two transmitters (separate receivers, of course) with a common mute
switch and single lav mic (probably a Tram TR50). Larry, et al...does
anyone know if it would be possible to do this without having to "home
brew" something? Perhaps a "Y" cable out of the Ref Switch to two
REFUM's? Any diode isolation needed for steering? We previously
accomplished this task using the NFL classic Telex mute switch by
building in an R/C network to eliminate the "pop" when shorting out an
electret mic with bias on it. It still passed very low frequencies
(after all, it was really just a high pass network with a very low
crossover frequency) but worked good enough to use for the past 8
years. My preference is NOT to use the Telex switch method, since
turning off the DSP is SUCH a better way. This will initially be for
the new Cowboys stadium, but I also have interest from several other
NFL venues. Many thanks in advance.

Maybe the Remote Audio "Lectro Y cable":http://www.trewaudio.com/store/product.php?productid=152&cat=23&page=1

Yes - the Y cable as pictured on Trew's site should work. The wiring
would be lav mic>REFSWITCH>Y cable>two REFUM transmitters. Our
REFSWITCH does not short the lav mic but instead connects to pin 5 on
the transmitter so that that DSP mutes the audio. This way, there are
no pops or clicks when muting/unmuting. BTW only the REFUM works this
way. A regular UM400A, SM, etc. will not work like this.
