I am planning on conducting a little experiment if anyone is
interested:
You can also maybe setup this experiment.., you drive 160 KMH in a
car on the highway, or Autobahn, , turn loose 1 wheel, and see if you
can drive on, on 3 wheels.
I have 2 power inputs on my recorder, and when i record, both are in
use. take one out, nothing happens. As CT wrote, i'm responsible for
not letting a power failure happen.
It's not just about saving 5 seconds of a file, it;s also about not
having to tell people that i'm not recording anymore, since i lost
power.
My guess is that some here then chant, hey, but at least i have
everything till my recorder stopped working ! I rather not chant, and
just roll on.
But i do wonder, did no Deva user ever got a HD that dit not work ? of
some file that was garbled ?
I still don't understand if people are trying to teach me about power
redundancy... I want people to understand that I KNOW this - and feel
a little insulted with the remark you have left ¤R¼..-¦°€•*¦*b€rt°•.
If I am misreading your posts, please let me know.
Can't we all just get along? :)
On my cart, I have an IOTA 45AMP charger with smart cycling, connected
to a 12 Volt 110 AMP hour deep cycle marine battery, which is
throughput to a Xantrex 1200 Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter. With this
system I am able to run my cart longer without power than I can ever
imagine having to. I also have redundant Lithium Ion batteries in my
deva as well as A big sony style battery in my 744T.
I am not saying anything to disagree! Please understand!
So, I will say this as well - I am being 100% when I say that BOTH
machines for me have frozen at least once or twice on me in record. It
is VERY rare - but was scary when it happened. I did have to cut the
take, but was able to ensure them that at least on the DEVA that the
file up till when I had to yell cut was safe and there.
So, REGARDLESS of power concerns, software malfunction can also cause
a FAT32 system to have an issue that I have never had a problem with
the DEVA personally. However, since my test - which I will conduct as
soon as possible, would be difficult to prove in that I would have to
find a way to force every machine to crash at the same time - I will
just do the "kick out test" I have stated above. I can post them
online for people to see as well.
