NONE!!! Really it is so poor and THIRD WORLD, you won't find a
thing. I would take EVERYTHING you might need and then some. Lock
your cases and chain them together when you are out and about! ALWAYS
leave someone with the vehicle when you are off shooting. Expect
hassles at the airport when arriving, have all the PROPER paperwork in
your hand. Leaving is a bit easier, but expect a departure duty on
your gear. Maybe, maybe not, depends on the mood of the authorities
at the terminal.
I don't mean to sound all negative. Outside of Port-au-Prince it is
very beautiful and the people are kind and humble. But the poverty,
crime and corruption make the city a real nightmare.
On the other hand, I never had any inteference with wireless mics,
recorded some pretty incredible Haitian music groups and would go back
with the right arrangements made in advance. I am getting a bit too
old and cranky to SCREAM at a customs guy when he demands $100K to
ALLOW me to enter their country.
