Interesting,
I own and use both,
and tend to use the B20 more,
i notice a marked improvement in wind protection on quicker boom moves,
but do not notice a marked coloration of the sound compared to the B5D,
i find them acoustically very similar,
that being said, the "naked" MK41 is indeed an improvement when movement is not an issue,
how would you describe the coloration that you noticed?
on a practical aside, i find the B20 significantly more robust and durable, with it's "exoskeleton" design

I switched from using the B20 to the B5D after doing a direct comparison of mine and another recordists CCM41's without any windshield and they sounded absolutely identical but (surprisingly to me) the B20 very noticeably coloured the sound whereas the B5D did not, so I now use the B5D..
