hi all, perhaps a stupid question. just a quickie on differences
between camera/mixer levels. am sending 1k tone to a 302, from another
302/ via lectro tx/ rx, and treating 2nd 302 like a camera (will be
Sony DSR450), for calibration purposes. if im reading 0db on the 2nd
302 (pretend camera) would that represent -20 on the real camera?
Heard that this is the case couldn't be sure.
thanks in advance
I'm not understanding your methodology? I'd set up my sending 302 so that I
was seeing appropriate level on the Lectro transmitter when working with
your standard level extremes (not tone) on the sending 302. Where that
appears on your receiving 302 is totally dependent on your receiver output
levels and the input level settings on the receiving 302 which are not
calibrated. If you are reading 0 full scale on the receiving 302 you are 20
db too hot by my calculations?
As for 1k tone, I generally set up my Lectro 200B transmitters so I'm just
seeing a faint glow on the -20 input light. I also try to hit it hard enough
(via output or cable wiring) so that I achieve that glow with the Lectro
gain switch at around the 9am position to maximize the transmitter's gain
structure.
