Does the Zoom recorder record Broadcast Wav files in WAV mode? If so,
Perhaps the transcription company is reading the time-stamp from the BWF
file and not decoding the LTC on the audio track. IF the Zoom is putting the
time of day into the TC stamp in the Broadcast Chunk it could explain what
is up. A call to them would be in order to see what they are using to
display their time code. Most Transcription houses use external Time Code
readers to decode LTC on an audio channel. As far as I know, most
transcription playback software normally does not do this in the computer.

Last week I did a two day shoot on a Varicam, and took a feed from the TC
OUT socket to a Zoom mp3 audio recorder for transcription. I used wav
files, not mp3.
The company have contacted me and told me the transcription company said
that the TC has reset itself on each interview, it would appear that the
TC that has been recorded to my portable recorder bears no resemblence to
the TC on the LCD display on the camera.
It could also be the case that the rushes themselves have incorrect TC (I
doubt that).
Does anyone know why this would happen? Is there an internal setting on
the camera that needs to be selected? Its really quite annoying, its the
first job I've done for them.
