The filters, they do everything! If it keeps up I'll just filter the usernames, like always.

Hi everyone,.
I've been in lurk mode for quite a while. But I think some of you
still remember me. I've been around since the beginning (actually
voted on David Barr Yaffe's proposal to create RAMPS). RAMPS remains a
valuable resource. But I noticed this morning something like 275 posts
since yesterday afternoon, and almost all of them--including replies
to legit posts--were from scam artists (I'm trying to choose words
that won't get this post filtered by various usenet readers).
Could be this is a temporary situation. But if it lasts long enough,
RAMPS will lose a lot of value.
Perhaps we could consider shifting over to a mailing list. I co-
moderate two lists, one for documentary filmmakers and another for
professional video editors. Each has around 1500 members. I've created
and moderated other mailing lists in the past. Moderation takes very
little effort on my part.
Mailing lists aren't a perfect alternative to usenet. But if this
group is filled with adverts and nefarious links, we could consider
moving the list, and I'd be willing to help do that.
Just a thought for now...But what do you all think?
