New Sony F23 HD Camera and SRW-1/SR PC-1 Recorder

I'm starting a feature soon that is using this new camera and I was
wondering if anyone can tell me of any pointers or potential problems.
The camera is
coming in from out of town and I won't get much time to play with it
before our first day of shooting (next week). There is no editor or
post super on board yet and might not be till after we start rolling.
I'm planning on feeding camera and recording double system on my 744T
and clapping a TC slate.

This will be my first Sony HD feature since going NL and I'm not sure
if I should crossjam to 29.97 (like I have in the past with DAT) or
use 23.976. I hope to put a lockit box on the camera / deck and do
free run tod. I believe they plan on cutting in Final Cut Pro (latest
greatest release). There will also be a little off speed shooting and
was told then the deck has to be in rec run and it outputs some
weirdess that relates to the camera speed. So far everyone is leaving
tc issues up to me and I want to be sure that editorial or audio post
can sync up my 744T files without any trouble. I know in the past Wolf
and others have said to use 29.97 to avoid problems but I keep
wondering if these haven't been worked out and I should record tc at
23.976.

I also have no experience with this portable recorder. I plan to go in
analog line level and take a return. How is the metering? Are there
hidden menus or switches for limiters? Will there be delay issues on
playback? etc.

Any and all info appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex Riordan
