Did you mean the HVX, because unless you leave the SD off for two hrs
or more(the internal battery in the 702t keeps it's timecode
accurat_). I am glad you have had such small drifts with the HVX, I
assume you mean 2 or 3 seconds not frames but heah if the machines
HVX's u have worked with are that accurate right on. I have worked on
more shoots than I'd care to count that used different HVX 200's and
the drift has always been a few seconds evey hr. I wouls assume PAL is
the standard over there and this may account for the lack of drift
you've experienced, but it maybe a multitude of other thing?

If you are going to use time of day on these cameras you are going to run
into what I believe to be drop/non-drop issues in NTSC land. My experience
with all of the small Panasonic cameras over the years has not been good in
that regard. Much better to let the camera use whatever code the operator
wants and just whack a timecode slate on each take that is synced with your
recorder.

Thanks for all of your feedback, very helpful and along the lines I
was thinking. I don't have a comtek system but I do have an old AT
U100 system. Worth it to use this to send a scratch track to the
camera of just use the camera mic? Also, I'm not familiar with how
timecode on an audio track works and what is required of a NLE to read
this. Can anyone fill me in?
Thanks again,
Parker
