Ehh..i was asked 2 months ago to do sound on some documentary on this
machine, but looking at pictures from it on the Internet, i already
decided to go with a lockit boxes connected to the Audio track of the
cam.
I mean, even though they have XLR in, it does't mean that it works. An
hour trouble in post production is way more expensive than the rental
of your gear for a double system, especially when deadlines are
involved.
Most of the time production is rather sensitive for these argument$.
Good luck and have your r-09 of something in the bag going so you can
have an insurance policy for the production company when the audio
goes to crap. Of course that will "COST" them.
I think you should avoid that stage , and warn them before it will
happen. Since, it will happen, not if, but when.
While using sometimes just TX on 3 tracks, i even did second cam with
another V1U.
Great TV cam by the way, very small, good picture..

I agree with you but as noted most "clients" can't be saved from
themselves! They only beleive you after the fact.
