Send tone from your X5 so that it shows up at -20 dB on the 411
receiver. You should have the -20 LED glowing on your transmitter.
Then set the output level of the receiver to +4 dB so that you are
sending line level into the cam. Set the cam inputs to line level and
then calibrate the meters to -20 dB.
If these cams are the GYHD110 models, then hitting the Display button
(maybe twice?) will show you an expanded audio meter section with dB
markings. If it is the GYHD100 version (the original one), then you
are stuck with a poor meter section with no markings. I believe on
that cam that the yellow dots inidicate -20 dB and above. The audio
menu is easy to navigate, make sure (it should be the default) that
you are recording at 48 khz. Also, just like on most other cams, turn
off the AGC. It sounds horrible. The limiter on your X5 coupled with
the built-in limiting of the lectro system should be enough.
Somebody please correct if I'm wrong about the yellow section of the
meter on the 100 version!
This allis more or less what I did with a JVC GYHD250, but with older
Lectro 205s for the hop, and it worked fine.
