hm, 30 meters of good cable - ohh that what the mic cost me :-)
maybe I will stay with the 5 meter and ask them bring the fisher instead

It would depend at least on the mic and the gauge of the cable.
On Neumann's site, they list only standard-length (under a dozen meters)
cables for their tube mics. But they also offer to make custom-length
cables, or sell you bulk cable, and say:
Even if very long (Neumann) cables are used, the electroacoustic
characteristics of the microphone are not affected.Only with cable
lengths well over 300 m a high-frequency roll-off is noticeable.
