Thanks for the reply!

"If they provided you with a track with music on one track and 29.97 ND
time code on the second track..."
All I have is a CD. The "video" will be part of a feature, about a fictional
band so there is no record label or anything. The actors recorded the CD
themselves. But I can do this myself right? I'll send a mono mix to one
channel and 29.97TC generated from the 744 to the other and make a new CD.

"...use Audacity to change the speed by +0.1% then export the wave file and
put it back into the 744."
Sounds good.

"feed the output of the LTC track from the Audio Channel 2 to feed the
slate. It should be then at 30.00fps on playback."
OK. I guess that's simpler than I had built it up to be in my head. Does
48.08k come into play anywhere here? I guess I don't need to worry about
that, I mean Audacity is speeding it up for me.

"It sure is a lot easier to use a laptop for playback..."
Yeah, it's on my list. Got to pay some other bills first. I'll get by ok I
think. I'm planning to have the lyrics indexed with a-time numbers to make
it easier to get to the spots I need to find. It's a laid back crew though,
and none has ever made a video so I don't think they'll be too upset if they
have to wait for me to cue up. Besides, I suspect the director will just
want to play the whole song out from a couple of angles and call it a day.
Only a small portion of the video will involve lip sync.

Thanks again for the help.

Any other tips out there?

Dennis

Dennis, and all,

Doesn't it have something to do with:
1. What frame rate the camera is RELLY recording at, e.g., the Panasonic
Varicam in 24 P is really recording in 29.97

and

2. What timeline the editor will be using? e. g. 29.97 or 24?

Thanks,

Ty Ford
