i have used the listen receivers with a comtek transmitter - they work
great. they are a little bigger than the comteks, but have more
features. things i like -
1. uses AA batteries ( can use NiMH )
2. headphones can be mono or stereo ( no more modifying my headsets to
mono )
3. has battery life indicator, signal strength indicactor
4. tunable frequency
5. cheaper than comtek rx
thing i don't like -
1. the clip on the back is flimsy and breakable ( only had one break so
far though )
i guess that is it!
my opinion - no lectro IFB, but great for the price, esp if you already
have some comtek gear and just want to add RXs to the mix

They market a kit for 120 listeners/tour group. Solves the problem of
not enough ifb's for the whole set and then some.
comes in VHF 72mhz and 216mhz
Now my question
What i need is a transmitter on 174.770 for a Phonak micro ear kit i
just got. It comes with a transmitter and a lav mic but want to add
something like a comtek M-72 or old lectro VHF 175,180 transmitter so i
can feed program into someones ear and or direction.

Talked to Lectro (response)
"The Phonak site lists FM deviation as less than 6 kHz which is very
little. Our transmitters are 15 kHz in that VHF band. I don't know
what to tell you other than to have someone experiment with turning the
deviation down on a transmitter that has been re-tuned to the correct
frequency. The biggest problem with reception is the very short antenna
on the Micro Ear at VHF. Their brochure says short range communication
and I can believe that. They also list frequency response up to 7 kHz.
If that is determined by the IF bandwidth, our wider bandwidth may
cause the system to squelch on sibilants."
Ive heard of maybe doing this with old Vega Transmitters also. I know
an rf engineer who could probably do this but just wanted to put it out
there to see if anyone has a easy "buy this piece" fix.
For now the kit comes with a TX and mic that works just looking for
another transmitter option.
