You WILL need a ground plane for those little antennas, and decent 50ohm
cable. Maybe some "bat-wing" or "shark-fin" antennas would work a bitt
better. Oh, and you'll still need the good cable for them as well. Try and
keep your runs under 50 feet or the cable loss will negate your stronger
antennae.

Being Diversity recievers, I would mount one antenna (Even just the
little rubber-ducky omnis) on each side of the proscenium. They should
be close enough, and the distance between them will account for RF
dropout.

Yagi's are a little overboard for a stage setting and may perform worse
due to how directional they are.
