power problems hit me, too.

so far, i've only heard of the bleed problems and power problems from those
running off battery or powermax.
Everyone still utilizing ac power has no trouble with either.
(but they do have to haul a gel cell around on the follow or wait for the
lunchbox to get hot)


beware the post world, though. apparently they were trying to mount the
discs directly into a mac, without using their own 824 right there in
the studio. they had problems, and started calling me telling me that
things were missing. it still seems to have problems mounting on a mac
from time to time, but pcs seem to work fine.

I've been on a show where post was having similar problems. Not sure what
the fix was. (824 education from the mixer, I believe.)

has anyone had problems with only formatting once in DDR mode, both DVD
and HD simultaneously? i've been told 2 different things. one person
said that's all you need, and one said to format the dvd and hd
individually, THEN do the DDR format. there's not always time for that,
though, when re-loading towards the end of a long day.
curious what the results have been for everyone.

It's true you don't HAVE to format twice, but my experience is it seems to
make the machine happier (AI?) when you do format the DVD in normal mode
then the HD and DVD in DDR. The PD6 has no trouble I noticed when you only
do DDR. Factory reps recommended the two step. (shall we dance?) I see
more and more mixers taking the few minutes here or there on long turn
arounds or before lunch to knock off the formatting of the next disc. Even
sticking around to get tomorrows disc ready the night b4.

i cannot wait for the usb hd access. the idea that i could send out a
HDP2 to record fx and then dump it straight into the 824 is great. it
would so many things easier.

Is that what you recorded the roller coaster shot with the other
night?HDP2?(assuming this is the griffin I think this is.)
