Re: Cold, rain, and snow

I've used the little clear plastic shower caps with elastic bands that
you find in hotels to be very useful in situations like that before.
you can take one and stretch it around the top of the mixer and it
still allows you to see everything and is thin enough that you can
still twist the pots. i also have used them to wrap my transmitters
and receivers. i always carry a few in my bag to put on my camera
mounted rx just in case it starts to rain or snow. the camera people
usually have something for the camera, but half the time it doesn't
cover my rx!

I also bought a larger and thicker *** of plastic ( a computer
monitor cover from office depot )and had an elastic band sewn around
the edge. it was basically a larger, more durable version of the
shower cap. i put this around the bottom of my soundbag when i am
going to be in snow or wet conditions. i am now comfortable with
putting the bag down in the snow and it not getting soaked.

has anyone used waterproofing spray on their bag? i am about to test
this and wondered if anyone had any suggestions before i do something
stupid to my bag (a portabrace)?
