Hi all,
I'm using Comteks for time code, too. They're older ones analog, one
freq pieces M72 transmitter w/ option 7 (BNC antenna connector, and
sub-mini input connector. I've made the cables myself: I use a right
angle sub-mini connector for the input w/ an XLR female on the other
end, and I always tape down the cable right at the end of the connector
to the body of the xmitter-- it is working well. On the output stage
(PR72 reciever) I also use right angle connector, w/ tape down. By this
way I can extend the cables w/ standard mic cables, and if I need an
adapter at the other end: it's not a big deal.
Video cameras want TC input levels approx 10-15 dB higher than audio
devices used to-- I can easily ride with the output volume control of
PR72. If I want to send camera output TC to my recorder (SD 744) via
Comtek feed-- it's a bit comlpicated, but not so much.
I always use a -10 dB pad, and I adjust the input gain of M72 to 12
hours. It works fine, and I had never overload (until distortion) the
TC input of the 744.
