PSC Alphamix Headphone Volume Fixes

Hello RAMPSers,
I own a PSC Alphamix, and have been really happy with it, short of 2
problems with the headphone output:
1. Not enough output gain. I'm typically mixing with the volume knob
somewhere between 80% and 100% of full, and often when in a loud room,
I cant get enough output. I recall on the old M4s that you could pump
up the headphone volume through 2 little pots, accessable via tweaker
through the bottom of the mixer. Not so on the Alpha?
2. No hard "off" on the headphone volume switch. At its lowest
setting, I can still clearly hear sound through the headphones, and it
would be nice to be able to be silent w/o unplugging my phones. I'm
doubting there's much that I personally can do, but I thought that I
should more publicly mention it, so that those at PSC that might read
this (Ron Meyer?) can take note, and perhaps make a change in the next
revision of their product(s).
So, after that long intro, does anyone have any experience with
boosting the headphone output on an alphamix? Rich @ Professional
Sound Services here in NY called over to PSC, who said that both of the
above problems can be fixed for $150 by sending out my unit, but I was
hoping to be able to do the repair myself, to save a little cash, and
mostly so I wouldn't have to be w/o my mixer for the time it would be
in surgery. Anyone tried this? Thanks for reading.
Ethan
