Wasn't the old British system that of giving every sync take a unique
number, that was keyed to the script super's log book? That would
certainly be simpler for a long show being recorded non-linear than
entering a lot of scene/take info, which, as we know, is wrong a good
percentage of the time.

Isn't that like the NY style of having consecutive take numbers
regardless of the scene number? That way there's only one take one, etc?

An alternate system I ran across was scene & take numbers as usual but
with consecutive track numbers.

One set of master numbers does make things easier.
