Speaking as a post guy who has to handle Deva, Metacorder, and PD-6 discs in
dailies every day, my opinion is that we can handle anything. My preference,
though, is that the takes be named "SC4 TK2" or whatever fits the file-naming
scheme, just in case we get lost.
I have had situations where the camera crew started writing down the wrong
takes on their slate, and the sound guy ignored what they were doing, plus
the timecode slate was broken. In situations like this, we need all the help
we can get in order to figure out which piece of sound goes with which piece
of film.
