I think you are trying to say that my quote took your remark out of context.
I happen to disagree, but that may very well be because I am trying to make
my own point. It happens :P

What I understood from your post is that freedom of speech means that you
are allowed to write anything, yet no one is allowed to write anything about
what you write and how you write it. All the others have to look the other
way and be quiet. While in fact, the freedom of speech also applies to your
critics, of course.

However, your post also gave possible explanations for any offense and even
suggested some regret for that, which in my book is a civil way of
communicating. Thank you for that.

I also reserve my freedom to not look the other way and to give my opinion.
We'll all have to live with that, I guess ;-)

Bu let me just try to make my own point: Is it really a great thing, this
Usenet, when everyone is exercising their freedom to be impolite to all the
other free folks? I for one am in favor of a more civil way of
communication, no matter the age group of the contenders or the location of
the debate.
