Advice on time code/ 16mm

I'm doing my first film shoot next week and need advice. I've done
plenty of sound for video, but film is new for me. I need advice on
syncing this stuff up, and what frame rates to use.
The camera is an Arri SR3. I'll have my mixer and mics., the production
company will provide a t/c DAT and smart slate. These last 2 items have
not been "procured" yet, so I don't know the make or model numbers.
Here's my plan. I'll use the DAT t/c generator as my master. I'll send a
signal to the slate via a comtek.<<<<<<<<
So far so good
I'll jam the DAT t/c to the camera via a cable at the start and have
all set to "free run". Is this a standard way to operate or are there
better or simpler ways to work this.<<<<<<
There's a t/c input on an SR3? No connection to the camera required. The
camera shoots the t/c numbers on the slate. You should set the DAT
recorder to 48k sample rate and 30 fps-nd.
