I understand that you hate Bush, Republicans, and
conservatives, and you have your reasons.

Actually, I have nothing against Republicans or Conservatives. I agree
quite heartily with many of the thoughts and philosophies put forth by
William F. Buckley, Pat Buchanan (except for his bigotry and screaming
xenophobia) and I happen to think Ben Stein is a pretty cool guy.

What I have problem with, and thus the reason I feel so hotly compelled
to respond to nearly everything you post, is people who seem to be
unbelievably reality-challenged. People who insist that George Bush's
diplomatic policies are sound and admirable; people who insist we must
continue to wage war on countries with Muslim populations, apparently
merely because they have Muslim populations, and the only reasons given
are either nonsense or blatant lies.

People who continue to insist that violence and death are the answer to
anything.

People who think not charging millionaires and billionaires hardly any
taxes at all will somehow create revenue.

People who think you can't be religious and believe in modern science.
People for that matter who think there's no such thing as a Christian
liberal or a Christian Democrat.

See, I happen to think that (ahem, "real") Conservatives are more
cerebral and intellectual than their counterparts on the Left. (Al Gore,
Jon Stewart and Bill Moyers would be your most obvious exceptions.)
Which is why I just can't stand people who claim to be Conservative, but
only continually spout the incredible idiocy that you hear from the
right-wing media. What idiocy? Well, "the liberal mainstream press" is a
good start. "All Liberals hate America." "All Muslims are terrorists."

"The Democrats want nothing but to raise taxes and give the Treasury
away to people who are too lazy to work." For that matter "Welfare only
supports fat black women who drive Cadillacs to the welfare office and
have more babies since it means more free money."

Another fave: "We had to do what we did in 2000 and 2004 to keep the
Democrats from stealing the election from Bush." PLEASE!!!

It's sickening. No reasonable person believes all of that. Hell, no
reasonable person should believe ANY of that. And I honestly believe
that most people are in fact reasonable. It's all I want for America, is
for people to actually think. It's all I want for *humanity.* And to
think about other people once in a while. Is that too much to ask?

To whatever extent you think any of that applies to me,
you're welcome to your thoughts. I'm not going to argue
with you anymore. Characterize that however you like.
