The margin of error is high, and it's really only the lower scores
that matter on the "user" ratings, because people go to movies they
are predisposed to like.
The 50% for Hills Have Eyes is a sign of major disappointment on
behalf of the films hardcore fans, who are pretty much the only ones
who'd be out on opening Friday.
This is the critical category I call "People who like this sort of
thing will like this" -- If people who like this sort of thing don't
like it, well, you can draw some conclusions.
I can, and your comment reeks of desperation. What, the ADD crowd didn't rush home and post how much they liked the movie? It was still in the top 5. I'm not saying I expect it to be any good either, but that's different than saying it doesn't have much appeal to its core fan base.
