Just thought I'd give my $.02 on MI3, if you haven't seen it yet,
whether you've been too busy or turned off by Tom Cruise's antics the
past year, and you're an action/spy movie fan, SEE IT NOW. It has
everything you could possibly want in a action flick; non-stop exciting
action (but not mindless action; action with a purpose) terrific stunts
(and not just that jump off the Chinese building you see in the
commercials) which Tom does mostly himself, a decent story and plot,
surprising twists and turns, a hero that's actually likable (Once you
see Tom perform, you forget all about his crazy antics) hot babes
(Michelle Monaghan, Keri Russell, Maggie Q) and a great supporting cast
topped off by a terrific villain in Philip Seymour Hoffman. Tom
Cruise can jump on couches all he wants if he keeps starring in good
movies like this. While his reputation has taken a major hit (and for
good reason) he's still the closest you can get to surefire box office
gold (MI3 will be his 7th movie in a row to gross at least $100 million
domestically)

You could tell Tom Cruise pulled out all the stops in this movie;
perhaps he knew his reputation was on the line after his offscreen
antics, so he went double duty to try to win his fans back, and he is
succeeding to a certain extent, with MI3 #1 at the box office 2 weeks
in a row (though cynics may say it was more Poseidon's failure than
MI3's success)

Before The Da Vinci Code and X-Men 3 take over the world and MI3 is
forgotten, I strongly suggest checking it out. You won't be
disappointed. Enjoy!

I thought it was pretty good too but not great. The plot was pretty much True Lies and even had a scene on the same bridge!

Personally I thought it needed to be shorter - one less action scene or just a bit more suspense or focus on the others. Not bad for a first time director though, even if he has cut his teeth on TV first.
