I didn't say it was politically correct, but that there are movies with
certain themes that Jodi Foster is attracted to. Panic Room was the
most obvious, even casting a young Jodi look-alike. It is blindingly
obvious that Jodi has the single-mom, doesn't like or need men
syndrome, and that she is acting out something bad that happened in her
childhood. Being the single son of a single mom who exhibited the same
traits (for very good reasons, I found out after I was an adult) it is
obvious to me, or to anyone that bothers to make some simple
observations.

I hate to be blunt, but that's a ridiculous and unfounded observation. Stretching any resemblances in her roles to fit your premise -- and even in these examples, it's a real stretch -- there's "Flightplan" and "Panic Room." Nothing else in her career fits that "pattern." There's really nothing to deduce from her choice of roles. In fact, when I think of how she's maintained her career, and with what bearing she's professionally comported herself, I'd say she's one of the healthiest people in Hollywood. Smart, decisive, and clear of her goals, she's lived an impeccable life, taking what she wants and leaving the rest. I can find no fault in her.
