...well I really don't think it's a problem hearing what's going on
out there, Sis...but I'm thinkin' that without field judges alot of
the individual errors will get swept aside unobserved/heard.

know you're into the marching aspect, and I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Remember, I'm the one who sits close to the field to see individual
faces, specific guard action and to have my "balls" blown off! I'm not
happy with fake sound. Not happy with it AT ALL. When I'm blown away, I
want it to be from sweaty tan human beings giving 100 per cent of their
energy towards making it happen. I want to be consumed by the sheer
power of a horn line and drum line to the point where I have no choice
but to jump from my seat! I'm not going to get that from DCI anymore,
because now I don't know if it's the humans putting that out, or The
Wizard of Oz behind a curtain in a recording studio programming sounds
into a computer on top of an electronic piano and I am NOT HAPPY with
it! I don't care if it is "only filling in". I don't want to hear it.
I've already heard bass drums out of a computer when I'm sitting right
there looking at a kid NOT playing it on his bass drum in front of me.
It's garbage and I'm mad as hell.

...I dunno, maybe it's because I'm as big a fan of ass-kickin' rock
'n' roll as drumcorps, but I don't mind the electrification at all
(unless it's over bearing...and I'm thinkin' they'll be pretty
dialed-in *soon*...)...think of when Bob Dylan went electical,
controversy abounded, but WTF, why can't the artist have some say in
the act? Old farts *always* get left behind...you wanna die with a
frown or a smile, it's up to you... ;0)

Kadets rock! So, too, Crown (BTW, one of my "sources" says Crown will
overtake Kadets soon...from the clip I've seen, I wouldn't doubt that
assessment at all!).
