Issue 411 of Doctor Who Magazine reveals that K9 veteran, John Leeson,
will once more voice the robot dog in the upcoming series of
adventures produced in Australia. Not only will Leeson voice the
original character in the opening episode, he will also voice the
redesigned model throughout the 26 episode series. The programme is
due for transmission in Australia in the spring of 2010.

It doesn't sound like Leeson! I'm not saying Leeson can't do an
Australian accent, but why get him to do it when it doesn't really
sound like him anyway, and may as well be someone else?

That's because it's not Leeson. That was an early version, and the voice
hadn't been decided on at that point.

I haven't kept
track of this story. I knew they were redesigning K9, but is this
anything to do with the BBC, or have they sold it off?

The BBC never fully owned the rights to K9. This series has nothing to do
with the BBC.

Well, I won't watch it. It does look awful. But then, it's not aimed
at me and a lot of kids WILL like it.
