Has anybody bought this yet? If so, what's it like? How does it
compare with the VHS release? Are the extras good?
Apologies for asking a DW-related question in RADw. Please allow me toI'm really struggling with purchasing. I want to watch old Who, I
compensate for my faux pas by mentioning that Yads is Hitler's
transexual granddaughter, Aggy is an unsucccessful clone of Greta Garbo,
and Sylvester McCoy can easily balance four ping-pong balls on the end
of his nose while repeatedly buggering JNT's exhumed corpse.
Having got the usual Radw crap out of the way, what do you think about
this quite interesting BBC/2Entertain DVD release of six historically
significant Hartnell episodes? What are the extras (including
commentary) like? At present I'm thinking that I'll wait until the
price is reduced before buying it, but if either the restoration or
the extras are something special I may change my mind.
[We now return you to your usual tedious chatter.]
caught bits and pieces growing up, but not nearly enough.
So I own nothing. And there is a LOT out there. It's a bit
overwhelming, and hard to know where to start.
I tried the local library, but the only thing they own is Earthshock.
I enjoyed that, but it just left me wanting more more more.
So, I think I'll buy too, but I'm not sure when.
One idea might be to try to watch a couple of well liked stories from
each Doctor and get a feel for what you like best. Each Doctor's era
sort of has a different "feel", so it could be fun to dip your toe in
each of them. :)
While you are absolutely right, that's a really fun idea, it doesn't
help my problem of narrowing down where to start.
The Aztecs
The Invasion
Inferno
The Robots of Death
And yourself?
Flobbalob?
You are sounding like Zarbiface / John Smith / Hulaloop.
