I haven't watched this episode since the 1980's. I always remembered
it being boring. But I also always see it being praised as one of the
best episodes of the Tom Baker era.

One of the best episodes of the Tom Baker era? Hell, that`s not praise
enough - it`s one of the best of the entire run! I can think of few stories
better personally, it`s dripping with atmosphere, a great story, fantastic
characters and wonderful performances from both Tom and Louise. About time I
re-watched it actually, thanks for reminding me :-)
