if Ep2 lives up to episode 1 then we have a serious contender for best
Dr Who story ever.
Steady on!
Where do I begin, the atmospherics were brilliant with incredible use
of
light and shadow, beautiful set design, some truly chilling moments
(particularly right at the end of the episode) and good performances
from all the actors, even the PA managed to come over sympathetically
IMHO. The Music deserves special mention - it heightened the
atmosphere
to a huge extent.
It was a good episode, yes. I keep wondering (or perhaps wishing) if
that
woman is Romana in disguise, but I imagine that's just fanwank :-)
At one point I wondered if she was the Rani in disguise and this whole
'from the future' angle was an effort to fool the Doctor for some
reason - might still be the case (that she's trying to fool him, not
that she's the Rani - though she could be), but she looks as though
she's going to be one of the good guys throughout. Bit intrigued by
the Doctor's comment in the trailer that Skeletal Dave "just killed
someone he liked" - does that mean River Song won't survive the story?
It seems highly likely to me that it is the Doctors Daughter to me...
She said this was the first time she`d met him though...and the way she
played the part suggested to me there was a bit of "hows your father"
involved. I would also expect the Doctor to recognise her even is she has
regenerated ( presuming she`s able to? ).
His bafflement and curiousity about her seems really strange if she's
simply a future romantic interest, which CAN'T be that unusual to him
as time traveler (even one who's "rubbish at weddings")
Her being a Time Lord would explain being able to interact with the
psychic paper, having a long history with him (how many ordinary
humans that aren't companions can manage to cross paths THAT MANY
TIMES with the Doctor?) and causing him to be very, very confused,
since he doesn't think there should be any around.
