Torchwood S3E13 Brothers, or Burried, or Dead Again, or Back Agian

Are we expected to believe that a Nuclear Power Station has absolutely no back up systems and bases it's central control systems in a building miles away which if the link is broken the reactor goes into immediate meltdown. WHAT A LOAD OF COMPLETE AND UNDER BOLLOCKS!

For fucks sake. Every Nuclear Power Station is built with an automatic multi-triggered scram-down system which when the temperature, coolant flow rate or radiation hits a critical level or when power is lost, automatically drops carbon control rods into the reactor core, by gravity if necessary so that the reaction stops dead long before it has any chance to reach critical. You'd need to deliberately ramp up the power by adjusting the control rods, then reduce the coolant flow, adjust the control rods to get even more power, increase the coolant flow again to dissipate the power and allow the control rods to be withdrawn further, and repeat these steps over and over again in a deliberately controlled manner faster than the safty systems can react aiming to over load the reactor and then finally cut of the coolant flow at the critical point having already bypassed scram-down systems by physically having already reduced the number control rods in the reactor scram-down mechanism and reprogramming the rector in order to work with this number of rods in order to cause the reactor to go into uncontrollable meltdown.

And if that's not bad enough they want us to believe that Captain Jack's brother wants to murder him or subject him to an everlasting death/rebirth cycle just because he let go of his hand, like it's not as if he could help it, and he was tortured by some unknown aliens who we don't even get shown, and wants to destroy Cardiff as well, like for what credible reason? FOR FUCKS BLOODY SAKE!
