I do find it interesting though that you bring them up; I mentioned

Are you confusing Peter Kay with Roy "Chubby" Brown?

I would never insult someone who likes Chubby brown - I wouldn't want to talk to them long enough to.

Give Peter Kay his due, he at least _tries_ to be funny.

My problem with PK (other than the quality of his jokes) is that he, well, tells Jokes. There's no real structure, and you can't call him a stand up comedian, he just sound like someone's dad, telling Jokes, in the very typical "A bloke walks into a pup" style, He's a working-man's club act that somehow got bigger than he deserves to be.

Roy "Chubby" brown on the other hand, often starts his act with "*** off!" and expects people to fall about laughing (which, remarkably, they do) - the only time I have ever found swearing to be funny in and of itself was for about one week when I was 4, and it was only funny then when I was the one doing it.


I declare this pattern "Aggy's law". it is an amended version of
Goodwin's law:

"as posts get longer in rec.arts.drwho, the chance of someone comparing
someone else to Aggy approaches one"

I suggested a similar, though more long-winded, version a couple of
months ago:

"As any thread gets longer, the likelihood of one participant accusing
another of being afflicted, or autistic, or a standup comedian, or
having Aspergers Syndrom[e], or resembling Yads, approaches 1."

"or a stand-up comedian" seems to stand out there...
