I agree also. There`s no point in printing a rumour, Who fandom is
excitable enough with stuff like this as it is. Seb will have to make
some sort of statement about this sooner or later and I imagine he
regrets printing it. I`m sure he had every good intention, I listen to
his ( DWO`s ) podcasts and he seems a genuine, enthusiastic fan, don`t
really know the kerfuffle surrounding his poor rep in here. But he should
have known this would cause a stir...he was obviously very confident with
his source and finger`s crossed it`ll come to something but for now it`s
looking like another dead end rumour.

Back before the days of internet forums, Seb was known to "spam" rec.arts
with promos for his webpage. There came a point when people would scoff
at him every time he made a posting. In fact, I noticed Paul Shields
(long time RADW poster from years ago) used this as an example of previous
poor conduct a few days ago on OG.

I do remember this and whilst it was mildly annoying I never thought he
deserved the vitriolic flak he got for it. But I never got involved in the
politics of it. I`d far rather have Seb`s posts promoting his website than
the gibberish of Yads or the crap we get from Aggy.

Let's just say, he doesn't have the reputation of Shaun Lyon. He is not
the sort that I would expect to suss out a missing episode. Many of his
contacts seemed to piggyback OG news announcements, and he always had to
compete with OG by posting stuff that could not be confirmed, such as
rumors about the DVD schedule and so on. Whereas OG always checked the
facts before posting anything. To be fair, there is a fair amount of
stuff that he's gotten right over the years.

I`d say DWO has come on leaps and bounds over the years and as said, their
podcast is always enjoyable. I do veer towards OG more but DWO is probably
the next stopping off point nowadays and I`m not aware of any glaring errors
they`ve made recently. Although as I said, I think they misjudged the
decision to publicise this rumour. If it turns out to be true, fantastic,
but my joy won`t be heightened or lowered by whether I knew of the remote
possibility of it beforehand.
