That is ridiculous. This is a lesson I learned long ago. The bullies
in school are an excellent example. I was scared to death of them and
I tried avoiding them for years. I tried appeasing them in any way I
could, giving them whatever I could to try to prevent getting beat
up. You know what? In the long run I realize that this attitude only
prolonged my torment. The bullies knew that they could have their fun
with me and I'd never fight back. Even into highschool once I had
grown to the same size as them, the tradition continued. I was always
afraid of fighting back because I thought it would make things worse
on myself. One day they were beating me up so bad I decided it
couldn't get any worse so I started punching them in the faces. The
fight continued for some time before teachers broke it up. I had
several injuries but the bullies walked away with bloody noses and
black eyes. Guess what? They never bothered me again. If only I had
given them what they deserved years before it would have completely
changed 3 years of my life.

And so how many years later are you packin' heat to give grown up bullies
the what for? Gorsh, if only you'd had that gun back then!

The same is true for the guy who robs people with a gun or a knife. Or
the rapist. They continue to get away with it so that re-inforces
their behavior. There has to be justice otherwise crime will spiral
out of control.

Two wrongs can make things mighty right!

Anyone who sits around feeling sorry for criminals telling themsleves
"they are just victims of society" are just kidding themselves. I'm
not going to "sit around and take it" like I did when I was younger.

Preach it brother!

I'm being pro-active now. I have a daughter to take care of and she
is not going to have to make the same mistakes I did. She is 5 now,
in another year or two I'm going to start teaching her martial arts:
Aikido, Karate, Judo, etc.

What, no Kung Fu? For shame!

I'm also going to tell her that if anyone picks on her in school to let them
have it.

Her screen name - "Trinity"; the toughest little vinyl clad kindergartener
the world has ever known! Beware her deadly Scorpion Kick!

If the school or the police try to get involved, I'll be on my daughter's
side. (See in my case - I got a week of suspension for fighting, even though
I'd been getting beat up myself for 3 years and the school did nothing. isn't
that ironic?)

Like rain on your wedding day, ironic as a free ride when you've already
paid or the good advice that you just didn't take.
