with regard to OG, and so I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to take sides
with either of you. All I know is that something as ultimately
insignificant as an Internet forum is simply not important enough to
invite such a degree of venom, no matter how great the mistreatment
(perceived or otherwise).
That's not to say that you're aren't entitled to make such posts or use
such heated language, of course, John -- lest anyone suggest that I'm
trying to stifle free speech. But the simple fact of the matter is that
when threads go in that direction, they become extremely unpleasant to
participate in, and under those circumstances, I'm quite happy to bow out
of the discussion. In the end, chatting about Doctor Who is supposed to be
fun -- and when a thread stops being fun, I think the only sensible thing
to do is just skip over the thread altogether.

Precisely, that is exactly what I do most of the time now.
What makes me laugh is this paranoid obsession need to spend hours and
hours sending hundreds of posts criticizing one very small section of
the shows history, 12 stories out of 180odd TV stories, 80odd Big
Finish CDs, *** knows how many hundreds of books and all the other
stories in other media and spin offs, that is 12 stories in a
*minimum* of 500 Doctor Who stories, a *tiny* percentage.
I could understand 5 years ago when there was this delusional view
that RADW was some kind of Pro-McCoy hotbed but now *17 years* after
Survival part 3 aired with a new series to talk about and most of the
alleged "pro-McCoy trolls" gone from the group to *still* be obsessed
with such a tiny proportion of the show history makes the usual
suspects look like brain-dead idiots.
To add a positive point to end the post I listened to The Crusade CD
again last week, quite brilliant, and a fascinating interview with
William Russell to finish, amazing to hear how well he remembers the
show 40+ years on....
