Re: Update on Molly

It sounds like Molly is going to have excellent care! And that's so
wonderful she'll be able to come home. Sometimes I think that makes a
world of difference for a child's recovery. Continued prayers for her.

And a few extra prayers that your daughter has a healthy and happy
pregnancy!!

My son and daughter-in-law just went to Shriners in Springfield, MA,
for their consultation. Molly does indeed have severe hip dysplasia
with the left being worse than the right. Her treatment won't begin
until probably July but they will go for Molly to be put in traction
but she doesn't have to stay in the hospital. They have a portable
unit that goes home with the patient and they call it the "little red
wagon." Her mom and dad will learn how to care for it and for her
while she is in it. She will also need to have surgery to have the
ligaments around her hips cut and then she will be in a cast. Don't
have any timeframe on how long for any of these treatments, but they
liked the doctor who was optimistic about a good prognosis. They
didn't hear anything they weren't prepared for and are comfortable
with the doctor and with everything progressing as proposed.
Hopefully this will involve minimal pain for the little munchkin!

P.S. You may also remember that my DD, Amy, suffered a miscarriage
late last year which was one of the reasons that prompted our mother-
daughter trip to WDW in February. She just had an ultrasound this
morning and THEY SAW A HEARTBEAT! We have another bundle of joy
heading our way, once again in December! Pixie dust and prayers
definitely make a difference!
