It has been a long time since my last status update. Please excuse the

Construction work has been proceeding at a slow rate. However, your
engineering design team has been hard at work on the Heating,
Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) system.

As you may recall your facility consists of three main structures: 1)The
RADP Magic Kingdom Pavilion itself, 2) The Nuclear Power Plant, and 3)
The underground waterway entrance and exit. The underground waterway
also houses the RADP-HOF (Hall of Fame).

Home air conditioning systems usually remove heat from the inside air
and release it to the outside atmosphere (air). However, the atmosphere
is a poor conductor of heat and industrial HVAC systems usually
discharge waste heat to a body of water for added efficiency. Because
our underground entrance passes under the stroller rental place near the
entrance to the Magic Kingdom, it is also close to the Seven Seas
Lagoon. Accordingly, the design team plans on using the Seven Seas
Lagoon as a "heat sink."

At this point in the design, your team made a remarkable discovery. It
was noticed that the industrial grade compressors used in the HVAC
system can be run in reverse, essentially functioning as a heat pump.
When operated in this mode they remove heat from the Seven Seas Lagoon
and can discharge this heat to the facility or the atmosphere. In fact,
because of our almost unlimited supply of electricity, we can remove so
much heat from the lagoon that it and a part of the attached Bay Lake
will freeze over.

You can imagine our excitement at this news! Your purchasing department
immediately leaped into action and purchased three Zamboni (ice
smoothing) machines. We are proud to announce, that if all goes
according to schedule, you should be able to ice skate on the Seven Seas
Lagoon during the 2009 RADP meet.

We have, of course, discussed this with Disney. All "freezes" will have
to be coordinated. Some issues remain. For example, the Magic Kingdom
resort launches will have to be replaced with some other form of
transportation. All in all, Disney is pleased and is planning some
extravagant "entertainments on ice." We are told that the lighting for
these events will be so intense, that its reflection off the ice will be
visible from outer space. There is also talk that the Seven Sees Lagoon
may be a venue during the 2010 Vancouver winter olympics. Who would have
thunk it?!

Note: Your gift shop manager Guido (don't call me Vinny) has not yet
been able to locate a supply of ice skates. But, I hasten to add, and I
mean this most sincerely, it's not his fault!

I think the Queen will have to veto this effort. Having just come out
of a northern winter, she's had quite enough ice to last her for a
very long time.
