I'm so sorry it didn't work out for you! Sounds like it would've been a
great change for you from your "day job". Well, maybe one of the 22 will
break an appendage and not be able to come to work and they'll hire you!

any vibe from them? Did they hint at what they wanted a DJ at Pleasure
Island to do?
Yes but I'm not allowed to tell.

So, I hadn't heard anything about whether you got the position or not,
Foxtrot.
I know you probably still can't say what the position was for, but I
presume
it was for this?

The description of it given by a CM sounds like it fits the job
description
you gave...
Took a look at the link and I can say that someone is talking too
much! LOL! Nail on the head.
And, alas, I was one of the 22 of 24 who did not get hired. Which
leaves me wondering if I didn't tone it down enough, toned it down too
much or if a middle-aged out of shape guy wasn't the image they
wanted.
I will say the panel seemed genuinely impressed with my audition.
Then again, my experience is vast but my resume can be a bit
frightening to some people.
I just got home from a job interview and I could tell the business
owner was intrigued by my cover letter but afraid of my resume. I got
him over the "strip club barrier" and a scheduled 20 minute interview
went for over an hour. I'm crossing my finger on this one. It's a
very good company and the couple that owns the area franchises have
won the company's Best Store award two years running.
I like the company I'm working for but I've found I don't like not
having a specific place to go each day. And right now is not the time
to be contacting people out of the blue and asking them to consider
advertising with our company.
My boss says I just need to give it a slight bit more effort and I'll
be doing great but when 90% of my rejections are people showing me
their books and not being able to afford it at the moment, I can't
make myself press them to write a check anyhow.
I think it makes more sense to let them off the hook and come back at
them on the next cycle. They are all telling me they love our program
and prices and just need the time to make sure they have the funds
available to sign the contract.
It doesn't put money in my pocket but my conscience feels better. I
think I'd be a better fit for the company I just interviewed with,
where if I'm talking to someone, they came to me with the idea of
being interested in my product. I'm not intruding on someone's day
and trying to convince them to buy six months worth of advertising
that they weren't even thinking about fifteen minutes ago.
It's just not for me.
