We were on the second floor
of building 6 on the corner, and the view was fantastic. While the view
from inside wasn't quite as good as sitting outside on the balcony, it
was still wonderful, enough so that dinner one night consisted of
takeout pizza from Puck Express while sitting at the table with the
curtains wide open.
Dh and I were water view, second floor, Bldg. 6 in December and it was
both beautiful and convenient.
In the last 14 years of trips, we've been at Port Orleans (mostly FQ, some
Riverside/Dixie Landings) over 75% of our stays. All the ones I could find
history on have been in bld 5,6,7, except for the honeymoon trip (pre kid)
when we were in 2 at the south end (closest to Downtown Disney). I think
they keep that end of property set aside for couples. The last two trips we
ended up with garden view 2nd floor of building 6, overlooking the large
flat lawn-bowling area. Our rooms were 3 doors (and a year) apart from each
other. Like other people say, there's probably not a bad room in the place.
It's entertaining hearing a horse-drawn carriage clop-clopping past your
room at 10pm. And around 9pm you can look southwest and (maybe) see the high
fireworks of Illuminations, if you're on an upper floor.
